Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square

We visited the historic sights of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City (now known as the Palace Museum.)









The detailed art in the buildings of the Forbidden City, like so much of the design in China, is awe-inspiring. One could spend hours and hours appreciating the color and designs on walls and ceilings, doors and floors.




Tourists crowded around the giant doors into the Forbidden city for a photo-op. Legend has it that touching the knobs brings good luck.
